カンボジア技能実習生のためのネットワーク

今回のRadio Kosatenではもうすぐ帰国するカンボジア出身の技能実習生は3年間の実習期間を振り返って、個人の経験や直面した問題を触れながら、クメール語、英語、日本語で全国にいる技能実習生のために情報を発信していきます！

現在日本では設計、造船、漁業、介護の現場などで2000人以上のカンボジア出身の技能実習生が働いています。
このカンボジアの技能実習生の多くのは3年間の実習生プログラムにおいていい給料がもらえると思っているので自国で派遣会社に高い金額を払って、日本にきました。
何万人である中国やベトナム出身の技能実習生と比べるとカンボジアの技能実習生が少ないのですが、毎年この人数が増えています。
それにしても、日本語と英語があまりわからない人が多いのに母国語、クメール語という言語での情報提供が非常に少ないのです。
受け入れ先の会社で問題が送って、労働組合、病院、労働監督署などで支援を求めたら、よく通訳・翻訳サービスが何も状況になっています。
保険や他のことについて行政に連絡されたらクメール語の翻訳もなくて、カンボジアと全然違う制度をどのようにナビゲートすればよいかとても不安になっている実習生もいます。
どの国の出身の方でも技能実習生の搾取問題がとても深刻なので第一言語での情報/サービスはとても重要です。

There are currently over 2000 Cambodian Technical Trainees in Japan working in construction, shipbuilding, fisheries and nursing.
The majority of these trainees came to Japan by paying a heavy fee to a coordinating agency, with hopes that they would be able to earn much more during their three year "traineeship".
The number of Cambodian trainees is relatively small compared to those from China and Vietnam, but they are steadily growing in number.
Despite this there is very little provision of information for trainees in their mother tongue of Khmer. Many trainees have only a small grasp of Japanese and can not speak English.
If they come upon problems in their host company and try to seek help with unions, hospitals and labor centers, usually there is no translation service avaliable to them.
When they are contacted by the city office with regard to insurance and other official procedures there is no Khmer translation and many are uncertain what is expected of them in a system very different to their own country.
With the wide spread exploitation of technical trainees in general, it is vital to have language services for those who have been supposedly invited to Japan to take up new skills, while in fact keeping failing industries afloat.
In this radio a trainee coming to the end of his official "traineeship" but who has suffered or seen many problems during his stay, will share information in both Khmer, English and Japanese for technical trainees around the country and those wishing to support them.
